Week 21 – Think BIG!
Negative thinking keeps us small.
Early in the course one of my negative thoughts was Take Back the East Side. It wasn’t a terrible thought. It was thought with the “best intentions”. Yet every time I thought it, I descended a ladder of powerlessness. Today, Lesson 21 spoke to me differently, broadened my view. Take Back the East Side changed into Create a Flourishing Culture of Community, People coming Together In Love, Assisting One Another. What difference does this make? Let me tell you.
I live on the East side in Charlotte, North Carolina. I love my spacious back yard. My grandchildren love our home. It is their second home. The east side decline began in 2003 – businesses moved away to ever growing suburban expansion to the north and south. The neighborhood changed from white bread to multi-grain, but most importantly it transformed from 100% home ownership to 50% rental property by 2010.
My heart said, I love this area, I want to stay, I love my new neighbors, different cultures and people, different perspectives. I lovethose new friends I have made.
I love experiencing how different cultures celebrate; live life. Yet I want the stability of long time neighbors. I am a mix of German, Swedish, French and English, grafted onto an Italian tree through the blessings of my Italian step-mother Marie. Chestnut Lakes, the name of our subdivision, is a rich, diverse, pool of Latino, African – American, Caucasion and Asian families. It is a microcosim of our world today, people living side by side, but with limited interaction. I want MORE. I want to know you all, so much more.
In my Sit the download came, a whole plan of action to Create MORE!
“Do not hesitate to aspire to the highest possible attainments in anything you may undertake, for the mind forces are ever ready to lend themselves to a purposeful will in the effort to crystalize its highest aspirations into acts, accomplishments, and events.”
“If the desire is one which requires determination, ability, talent, courage, power, or any other spiritual power, these are necessary essentials for your picture; build them in…dare to believe in your own idea…”
Imagine, “the mind forces are ever ready to lend themselves to a purposeful will…”
In Romans it says, “If God be for Us, Who can be against us!”
Think BIG. Ask and ye shall receive. I have learned to love daily meditation times thanks to the Master Key requirement. Meditation – a precious daily gift.
Think BIG! Follow your heart. It will lead you to rivers of living water.
